Ubisoft Expands Its Metaverse Footprint with Champions Tactics Avatars

  • Post category:Gaming

Ubisoft, known for iconic franchises like Assassin’s Creed and Just Dance, is set to introduce a new series of avatars for The Sandbox, an Ethereum-based metaverse game. These avatars are inspired by Ubisoft’s blockchain game, Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles, which launched last fall.

The new Champions Tactics NFT avatars will be available on January 29 on Ethereum’s Polygon scaling network. Pre-sale buyers on the allowlist can purchase avatars for 170 SAND ($88), while the public sale price is set at 180 SAND ($93). Each purchase includes an avatar for The Sandbox and three champions for use in the turn-based PC strategy game, Champions Tactics.

Previously, Ubisoft brought its Rabbids characters from the Rayman series and the Netflix animated show “Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix” to The Sandbox. The series, inspired by the Far Cry franchise, later led to the creation of Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E., a blockchain game with NFT access passes on Ethereum’s Arbitrum network.

Ubisoft stands out as a leading Web2 gaming giant making strides in the Web3 space. Through its games, partnerships, and initiatives like The Sandbox collaboration, Ubisoft is shaping the future of gaming with innovative blockchain technology and support for startups.
